Playin’ Hooky Charters will provide a personal, once in a lifetime, wedding experience. We offer two packages complete with Playin’ Hooky photography services.

You can have your special day at Pass-a-Grille Beach or have an intimate service on Shell Key Island. No matter which package you choose, you have the choice of saying traditional vows or you may write your own. Captain Adam Homan is a licensed notary and will perform your ceremony in full captain’s uniform. Playin’ Hooky will also provide decorations and seating for 16 that they will set up and take down. If the bride needs a bouquet, that will also be supplied.

Tara Homan, his wife, is an accomplished photographer and will shoot both candid photos of the ceremony and set up group shots before and after the wedding. She is there to record your day and create lasting memories. About 60 days following the wedding, she will mail the bride a matted 8”x10” of the wedding and a flash drive with printing rights.

Shell Key Island is a state protected island just a short distance off the coast of St. Petersburg, FL. This island can only be accessed by boat, which creates the perfect setting for the most romantic wedding. The western part of the island gives the most beautiful view of the gulf. As you stand in the gentle breeze to say your vows, you will be serenaded by the song of the gulls and the rhythm of the crashing waves. Transportation and seating will be provided for you and 16 guests.

Please note: There is no dock at Shell Key Island. Captain Adam will get you as close as possible to the shore. The depth of the water will be about 16 inches. You will get wet! This however, provides a great opportunity for a romantic gesture and a wonderful photo as the groom carries his bride to the shore. Arrangements can be made for couples who choose not to see each other prior to the ceremony.

Pass-a-Grille Beach is a public beachfront paradise. It is an historic, quaint, laid back beach town at the southernmost end of St. Petersburg, FL. Your wedding will be performed by Captain Adam at the water’s edge of this beautiful beach. Seating for 16 and decorations can be set up in advance.

Prices are subject to change without notice. All images remain the property of Playin’ Hooky Charters and may be used for advertising purposes. Customers have printing rights.

The bride and groom are responsible for all permits and the marriage license prior to their event and must sign a photography waver.

Florida residents – 3 day waiting

Even though couples will get their license immediately, there will be a 3 day waiting period for the license to become valid. This means Florida residents cannot marry until 3 days after receiving their marriage license.

No waiting period for non-residents!

In order for couples to marry in the State of Florida, they need a marriage license. The cost of the license is about $93.50. Your marriage license can be attained at most courthouses in the state. You do not have to be married in the county that you get the license. Please check your local county for rules. There is no waiting period for non-residents.
